Time needed: 5 minutes.

In this guide, we’re going to show you how to transfer pictures from a computer to a digital picture frame in just 5 steps. We’re looking specifically at Pix-star’s digital photo frames, and the exact steps might be different from other frames that let you send photos directly from a computer. Let’s get started!

  1. Register your new digital picture frame

The first step in learning how to transfer pictures from a computer to a digital picture frame is registration. Setting up your Pix-Star frame is quick & easy to do. this is quick and easy to do. Simply head over to pix-star.com and click on “Register a new frame” at the top of the screen. You’ll then be prompted for your frame’s serial number. This can be found on your frame in Settings > About.

Once you’ve input the frame’s serial number and followed the remaining registration steps, you’ll be redirected back to the main page on which you landed. If you have any issues during the registration process, make sure your Pix-Star frame is online and connected to Wi-Fi. If issues persist, restart the frame by removing it from power and plugging it back in.

  2. Login into your frame’s web dashboard

Once your Pix-Star frame has been registered, you’re ready to login into its web dashboard. Click on the “Login” button at the top of the display. Input your frame’s login information (these were created during the initial setup process) and proceed. You will then be taken to your frame’s web dashboard. If you chose to log into your multi-frame control account (if you bought more than one Pix-Star frame), you’ll be directed to the web dashboard for all your Pix-Star frames.

Take a couple of minutes to get familiar with the layout, features, and functions that the web dashboard support. Pix-Star’s web dashboard lets you remotely control your frame, import photos from social media, photo-sharing, and online storage platforms. You can manage cloud storage, start slideshows, etc. Most pertinently though, it’s where you can import photos directly from your computer to your Pix-Star frame wirelessly.

  3. Import photos from your computer wirelessly

In the left-hand panel, locate the “Web Albums” sub-heading. Here you can manage your web albums, import new albums from social media & photo-sharing sites, update existing albums, and more. You can also create a new folder to which photos directly from your computer will be imported.

Click on “Import external pictures” and you’ll be taken to the web album main interface. Scroll down to the section that says “or create a new Pix-Star album and connect it to your frame instantly:” and click on “Create a new album”. Give your new album a name (make sure your Pix-Star frame is online and connected to Wi-Fi) and click “Create Album”.

On the next screen, click on “Select file(s) and start the upload”. A file explorer window will open. Browse your computer to select the photo albums and pictures to add to your newly created album and click “Open”. It’s better if you put all the desired folders and files into a single location beforehand.

All the selected photos will then be synced to your frame. Here you can even choose to play the current selection in a slideshow on your Pix-Star frame by clicking on “Play selection on frame” from the row of options under the title. Note that all web albums are saved to your Pix-Star frames internal storage and are accessible offline. Synced photos are marked with a green dot; whereas pending photos are marked with a red dot.

  4. Copy photos from your computer to a USB/SD card

Pix-Star digital frame send pictures by USB/SD card
Another option that doesn’t require internet access is to use a USB/SD card. Insert a supported USB/SD card into your computer and drag & drop all the photos, videos, and audio files you want to view on your Pix-Star frame. Try to match the photo resolution with the frame’s native resolution and aspect ratio. Videos & audio files should also be in supported formats (common formats are supported by Pix-Star).

Take that USB/SD card and insert it into your Pix-Star digital picture frame. Give it a few short moments to read & register the drive. A popup will show on your Pix-Star frame’s display with 3 options. The first option is “Launch a slideshow of all the USB pictures”. This starts a slideshow with every picture saved on the USB/SD card without needing to copy any of them to the frame’s internal storage.

The second option is “Open the USB & browse files inside”. Here you can select which files and folders to copy to your frame’s storage. This is probably a better option if you have a large number of photos or a mixture of copied and uncopied pictures.

The final option is “Copy the whole USB device to internal memory”. This copies everything on the frame including videos & audio files. You can then move the photos around on the frame, start slideshows from specific folders and files, etc. Make sure you have enough storage space for all of the photos, or the last to be copied might be cut off when space runs out.

Final Thoughts

Now you can start a slideshow with all of your new photos. Head over to your Pix-Star frame and enjoy reminiscing over your favorite moments & memories! Pix-Star’s frames offer versatile slideshows that can be easily customized and personalized. They can even be started remotely from anywhere in the world – helping you stay more connected and sharing effortlessly with the people you care about most!

Time needed: 10 minutes.

In this guide, we’ll go in-depth on how to use the Pix-Star web dashboard with a simple and practical 8-step guide. You’ll learn how to get your new frame registers, what features & functions are available, how to view photos from social media, how to manage all of your photos, much more.

By the time we’re done here, you’ll have a clear understanding of Pix-Star’s web dashboard, and how to use it to get the most out of your Pix-Star experience. Sharing precious moments & memories through photos, videos, and audio will be easier than ever before. You’ll also be able to include your grandparents in a user-friendly & effortless way and make sure that nobody in the family ever misses another important moment. Let’s dive in!

  1. Register your new Pix-Star frame

The first step in learning how to use the Pix-Star web dashboard is to get your new Pix-Star frame registered. If you’ve just bought a new Pix-Star frame for your home & family, or as a gift, it needs to be registered on the web interface to use features like cloud storage, the remote-control feature, and web albums.

To register your new Pix-Star frame, head over to pix-star.com and click on “Register a new frame” at the top of the window. Follow the on-screen requirements to register your frame. Note that you can find your frame’s serial number in the “About” section of your frame’s “Settings” page (on the frame).

If you have already registered a frame, and want to register several frames to the same account, you can use the same process. You’ll be granted access to a multi-frame control account feature when you purchase two or more Pix-Star frames. It’s easy to set up and lets you control several Pix-Star frames at the same time from one user account, from anywhere in the world.

  2. Login into your Pix-Star frame’s web dashboard

Once you’ve registered your frame, you’ll see its name (or unique email address) at the top of the window near the “Register a new frame” button – back on the pix-star.com page. You may need to click on the “Login” button on the right side if it’s your first time logging in to the web dashboard for a newly registered Pix-Star frame.

If you click on this name or email, you’ll be taken to your frame’s web dashboard. Note that you have to input your login information, which consists of the unique email address you created when registering your frame, and the password you assigned.

When you arrive at your frame’s web dashboard, take a couple of minutes to get familiar with the layout of the options, controls, and settings. Head over to the “My profile” section at the top right corner of the screen and make sure all your information is correct.

In the center of the top area of the web dashboard, it says “My Pix-Star is:”, followed by either “Online” or “Offline”. Your frame needs to be online with a green dot for any changes, synced photos, news updates, etc., to be reflected on the frame.

The same is true for multi-frame control groups. To ensure your Pix-Star frame is online, make sure it’s been connected to Wi-Fi (note that you can’t connect to any networks that require web browser authentication – as you often find with hotel & restaurant Wi-Fi networks). Also, make sure that you’ve registered your frame via the web interface (as in step 1 above).

  3. Check your inbox & manage contacts

Under the “My Inbox” heading in the left-hand panel, there are four options. “View photo mail” lets you view photos sent to the frame via the Pix-Star Snap mobile app, or via the photo-mail function. You’ll see all the photos & videos listed as picture tiles with a bunch of options near the top of the window.

You can use these options to select & share photos with other Pix-Star frames, share them to your frame again (in the case you deleted the photos from your frame’s internal storage), delete specific photos, and even start a slideshow with the selection.

Photos & videos that have been already linked to and saved to your frame’s internal storage will have a green dot. This makes it easy to track which photos are currently on your Pix-Star frames, and which have yet to be synced. All of the photos you see in this section have been automatically backed up to the cloud. Any deletion made from here will subsequently remove them from the cloud, as well as your frame’s local copy.

Under the “Configure email filters”, you can set your frame to accept all photos ONLY from specific email addresses, or refuse photo-mail from specific email addresses. You can create a blacklist of addresses that you don’t want to be able to send photos to your frame. Any photos sent after blacklisting an email address will show up in the “View spam box” section. You can also add emails to your contact list under the “Manage my contacts” heading.

  4. Link, update, view, and manage web albums

An important part of learning how to use the Pix-Star web dashboard is its web album support. It’s a unique feature that Pix-star arguably does the best. “Web albums” is the name for photo albums that are saved on social media, photo-sharing, and online storage platforms. Pix-Star supports almost a dozen platforms including Facebook, Google Photos, Instagram, Flickr, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more.

Through the web dashboard, you can import photo albums from any of the supported platforms, directly to your frame, and have them automatically saved to its internal storage. Locate the “Web albums” section in the left-hand panel and click on “View my web albums”.

Here you can see any previously linked web albums, you can force update them, create new albums, and even download them directly to your computer. Additionally, you can share them with another Pix-Star frame, making it much easier to make sure everyone in the family gets all of the new photos.

Under the “Import external pictures” section, you can link & sync new web albums. Click on it and select the platform you want to link photo albums from. You’ll need to put the login details in when requested (you can link to any profile that you have the login information for). Select the albums you want to sync then click on the “Link to frame” on the right side of the screen.

Alternatively, you can link & sync photo albums directly from your computer to your Pix-Star frame. Click on “Create an album” at the bottom of the platform selection page, type in the name you want to give the album and click “Create”. On the next page, you can drag-and-drop or browse through your computer’s files to link albums.

An important point worth noting is that Pix-Star’s web albums can be set to automatically update whenever new photos are added to the album. This is a great way to automate photo-sharing with all other connected Pix-Star frames. You only have to upload the photos to the linked albums on the linked platform, and they’ll be automatically downloaded & synced to all linked Pix-Star frames.

  5. Remotely configure your Pix-Star frame

You can learn how to use the Pix-Star web dashboard without learning how to remotely control your frame. This doesn’t refer to using the handheld remote that comes with each Pix-Star frame, but rather by controlling your frames remotely via the web dashboard from anywhere in the world. It’s one of the most versatile digital picture frame features on the market and an essential feature for families & elderly users (or non-tech-savvy users).

Locate and click on the “My Frame Configuration” in the left-hand panel. You’ll be taken to your frame’s remote-control dashboard. Here you can adjust most of your Pix-Star frame’s settings, start slideshows, manage local & cloud storage, change email reception settings, change slideshow sources, change the interface language, adjust brightness settings, and much more.

Take a couple of minutes to through the supported remote-control functions and give them a test. If this remote-control page doesn’t load, it’s likely that your Pix-Star frame isn’t online and needs to be reconnected to the internet. Alternatively, you can reboot your frame (by turning it off and removing & plugging it back into the power supply) and let it start up again.

Pix-Star’s remote-control feature is probably the best executed on the premium digital picture frame market. It’s easy to use, versatile, and lets you make sure that any connected Pix-Star frame gets (and shows) the desired photos & videos, exactly when you want them to. It’s an extremely helpful feature for grandparents as they don’t need to lift a finger to view all the latest photos – and nobody in the family will miss importantly updated again!

  6. Create & manage multi-frame control groups

Pix-Star is unique in that you can manage & control up to 25 connected Pix-Star frames from a single user account. If you choose to buy more than one Pix-Star frame, you’ll be able to add all subsequent frames to a multi-frame control group. When logging into your account via the pix-star.com web interface, make sure to input the login details of the multi-frame control group.

Note that you don’t have quite as many customizations and remote-control settings available – though it’s still an extremely versatile way to control & manage all of the frames in the family. You don’t need to log out and re-log into each frame to adjust settings or manage storage. It’s a great way to save time and reduce the frustration of sharing photos with several frames at the same time remotely.

  7. Switch slideshows from anywhere in the world

One of the most useful things you’ll learn from how to use the Pix-Star web dashboard is the slideshow switch function. Here you change a current slideshow to show pictures from various sources such as web albums (you can choose which web albums), photo-mail, custom albums, and much more.

In the left-hand panel of the web dashboard’s home page, find and click on “Switch slide show”. Make sure your Pix-Star frame is powered on and online, or you won’t be able to access the slideshow switcher. You’ll be taken to a new page where there are four options to choose from.

The first option is “Play all the frame’s pictures”. It has the same effect as selecting the “Play all pictures” from your Pix-Star frame’s home page (directly on the frame). Clicking on this option will play a slideshow containing all of the photos saved on the frame’s internal storage. This included linked & saved web albums and any connected USB/SD card that’s loaded with photos. Note that the slideshow settings (play order & frequency) will still take effect on this general slideshow.

The second option is to “Play all web albums”. This will play a slideshow that contains ONLY the photos that have been imported as web albums. It doesn’t matter how many different platforms – or how many profiles on each platform –have been linked & synced to the frame, they’ll all be played in this slideshow.

The third option is to “Play inbox photos”. Much like the “Play all web albums”, this slideshow will only play photos that have been sent to the frame via the Pix-Star Snap mobile app or the photo-mail feature. Web albums and photos from connected USB/SD cards will be ignored. Note that you can manually move photos to this photo-mail folder beforehand, giving you enhanced personalized and more control over which photos are played.

The fourth and final option is to “Play a slide show of a specific web album”. There’s a drop-down list of all synced web albums, from which you can select one to play. Once selected, the current slideshow will be overwritten and the specific web album will start playing.

  8. Configure weather forecasts & set reminders

The final step in learning how to use the Pix-Star web dashboard is settings alerts & viewing weather forecasts/reports. These two features are less commonly used, but you should take some time to get familiar with them.

Note that weather forecasts are displayed as slides (like photos) within slideshows. You can select which country and city to provide forecasts & reports from, though they aren’t strictly up-to-the-minute live updates.

The “Add a reminder” feature lets you set reminders using a calendar function. these reminders will sound on the frame and pop up as a notification. You can customize the sound and type to get a more personalized reminder. You can also add notes to the reminders to provide a little more information with each alert.

Time needed: 5 minutes.

In this guide, we break down how to find the best digital picture frame for your home, family, needs, or unique setup. We cover 6 steps that help you make the right choice and find the frame that performs best where you need it most.

You’ll learn about how to set the right budget for your needs, how to find a frame that suits your preferred photo-sharing habits, and cover concerns like video & audio playback, Wi-Fi & cloud connectivity, and where to place your frame. Let’s get started!

  1. Set your budget

    set your budget
The first step in learning how to find the best digital picture frame for you or your family/home is to set the right budget. Here you need to decide whether you’re going to get a cheap, mid-range, or premium digital frame. We recommend getting a premium digital frame as the jump in performance, reliability, durability, and functionality is far more significant than the jump in price – especially if you go for frames like the Pix-Star that offer excellent value for money.

That being said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution here. Cheap digital frames are generally offline frames and can only receive photos via USB/SD card. They don’t get updates and they’re usually plagued by the build quality and reliability issues. They usually have very small displays with low resolutions and aren’t suited to family use.

The mid-range of the market offers Wi-Fi connectivity in some cases, though the vast majority are offline. You get a bigger display (usually around 8-inches) with resolutions around 800×600. These frames offer more slideshows controls and adjustable settings, but sending/receiving photos is often lackluster. They seldom offer video support, cloud storage, mobile apps, web album support, etc. The main issue with mid-range frames is that they struggle to find their place on the market. They’re price close enough to premium frames that saving up a little longer for a better frame is almost a mindless transition.

Premium frames are where most of the value lies. You get Wi-Fi, cloud storage & synchronicity, video & audio support, ease of use, mobile apps & web interfaces, remote control functionality, and much more. Premium frames like the Pix-Star come as either a 10-inch or larger 15-inch version and are some of the most versatile frames on today’s market.

Premium frames are the best choices for families & elderly users as they can send & receive photos, videos, and audio messages from anywhere in the world. In some cases (as with the Pix-Star frame), you can remotely control & manage up to 25 connected frames via the web interface. Photos can be emailed; entire photo albums can be linked from social media, photo-sharing, and online storage platforms like Facebook, Google Drive & Google Photos, Instagram, Dropbox, Flickr, and more.

Cheap digital frames usually range from US$30 up to around $70. Mid-range digital picture frames usually cost between $70 to $140. Premium digital picture frames start from around $150 (which is where Pix-Star’s most popular 10-inch frames in priced for optimal value for money) and go up from there. Some digital art frames with 20 to 30-inch displays can cost close to $1,000.

  2. Note your photo-sharing preferences

digital photo frame photo sharing preferences
The second essential step in learning how to find the best digital picture frame is to match your photo-sharing preferences with what the digital picture frame excels at. For example, if you never use USB/SD cards to send photos to your loved ones, getting a digital picture frame that’s offline (that only offers USB/SD card support) is less than ideal.

On the other hand, if you’re a big social media or photo-sharing platform user, finding a digital picture frame that lets you sync photos from Facebook, Google Photos, and Instagram can be a massive help in automating photo sharing for the whole family.

Low-end digital frames usually only accept USB/SD cards when receiving photos. They only support a small range of file formats and seldom offer much internal storage space for your photos. They also don’t allow you to play videos & audio files on the frame.

Some mid-range digital picture frames let you email photos to your frame, and some even offer computer software that lets you sync photos to your frame. There are almost always issues with their usability, so be wary when the claims made as too good for the price. Outdated software and slow interfaces can make these frames a nightmare to use.

Premium frames are where most of the magic happens. Here you can send photos, videos, and audio through a variety of methods. The best of these include email, sending through supported mobile apps, importing albums from social media, and via USB/SD card. You can send media to several frames at the same time from anywhere in the world.

For example, the Pix-Star Snap mobile app lets you send up to 250 photos to multiple frames at the same time from anywhere. You don’t need to create an account to use the app and photos can even be set to show in slideshows automatically as they’re received.

  3. Find the right platform to shop for frames

    digital picture frame onilne shopping
Choosing the right platform to start your digital picture frame on can be a headache – especially when learning how to find the best digital picture frame. With many options like Amazon, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, Best Buy, etc., it’s hard to know which is the best for digital frames.

From our experience and countless reviews, Amazon is – by far – the best platform to shop at when looking for digital picture frames. They offer the largest selection of digital frames at various price points on the market. This is important because you want to get the best value for money – especially if you’re looking for a premium digital picture frame.

Amazon offers in-depth product descriptions and you can read through hundreds of Q&As about the frame’s features, real-world performance, durability, and more. You can even ask a new or unique question and have it answered by someone that knows the frame well or has experience using it.

Amazon is the most popular shopping platform for digital frames, and as a result, you have more reviews to read through. You can sort reviews by their star rating and whether they are “verified purchases” or not. This helps you to paint an accurate picture of how these frames truly perform and if they’re the right match for you.

  4. Getting a digital frame for families & elderly users

digital picture frames for families and grandparents
Digital picture frames for individual users are often very different from those made for families or elderly users. Family-focused digital picture frames need to offer Wi-Fi, cloud storage, interconnectivity, multi-frame control groups, ease of use, mobile apps & web interfaces, and remote-control capabilities (to let you adjust settings and start slideshows from anywhere).

There are very few premium digital frames that offer all of these features – and offer them effectively. In some cases (as with Skylight & Nixplay’s digital picture frames), these features are offered – but are locked behind a subscription paywall. You have to pay the annual fee for the Nixplay Plus or Skylight Plus premium plan to gain access to all these features.

With an active subscription, these frames can be considered premium performers, likened to what you’d get for other competitors like Pix-Star. Without the premium plan, they’re nothing more than mid-range digital frames. When you factor in the long-term cost and total price (including the premium plan), these frames quickly lose in terms of value for money.

This is especially true when you consider that premium frames like the Pix-Star offer all the same features to a greater extent, without charging an extra cent of hidden or recurring fees (plus you get free-for-life cloud storage).

Pix-Star’s frames are one of the few premium frames that specifically cater to families & elderly users. This is seen through their robust feature sets, ease of use, remote control capabilities, free-for-life cloud storage, web album support, versatile slideshows, 8GB of internal storage, 4:3 aspect ratio, and immersive viewing experience.

Pix-Star’s frames are available in a bulk order (of 3 or 5 frames) too and are offered at discounted prices. You can manage up to 25 Pix-Star frames from a single user account – the perfect feature for families & elderly users that want to effortlessly connect & share their favorite moments & memories!

  5. Wi-Fi vs offline: Which frame is right for you?

digital picture frame offline vs wi-fi
Typically, Wi-Fi frames are only found in the upper-midrange and premium end of the market. They tend to be quite a bit more expensive, though you get a massive jump in functionality for a comparatively small price hike.

These Wi-Fi digital picture frames are ideal for families and make photo-sharing and connecting with your loved ones far more effortless. Wi-Fi frames are the better choice for modern homes & families, and those with remote-control functionality are ideal for elderly users that aren’t very tech-savvy.

Offline frames are typically found in the budget to lower-mid-range of the market. They can only receive photos by USB/SD card. One of their common traits is a plug-and-play feature that lets you play slideshows directly off a connected USB/SD card. They don’t have much internal storage space and require the connected USB/SD card to be inserted at all times to view photos.

Unfortunately, this often means that you have little to no control over the play order & frequency of photos within slideshows – leading to less personalized and customized slideshows. These frames can be remotely controlled and often have very small displays.

They tend to feel very outdated with clunky and unrefined interfaces that aren’t very easy to use. While this isn’t the universal reality, it’s far more common than you’d expect.

They’re not ideal for families and are best used for the single user. That being said, even this niche is being taken over by affordable premium frames that offer more immersive and versatile viewing experiences to the individual – while adding modernity and the functionality you’d expect from a 2021 photo-sharing device.

  6. Choose where you’ll place your frame

where to mount a digital picture frame at home
The final step when learning how to find the best digital picture frame is to decide where to place the frame. This has a couple of important considerations as it often dictates the size, brightness, and feature set of suitable frames.

For example, let’s say you’re looking for a digital frame for your living room. If it’s a brightly lit room, you need a frame with adjustable brightness and a max brightness of 250-300cd/m2. If it’s a large room, you want a frame that’s at least 10-inches (display size) and a viewing angle of at least 90-degrees that can be seen from across the room.

Another key consideration is whether the digital picture frame will be wall-mounted or not. Wall-mountable digital picture frames need to have a built-in wall-mounting setup such as support for using a standard VESA mount. These give a firm and robust mount with the ability to adjust and rotate the frame.

Some of the best digital picture frames like the Pix-Star offer support for using a standard VESA mount and dedicated hanging holes – along with an attachable stand. Pix-Star’s frames support landscape and portrait orientations too, both in their mounting system and software/features.

One final consideration is the use of touchscreens. We rarely recommend using a touchscreen digital picture frame due to its poor longevity and higher price tag. Touchscreen panels are significantly more expensive for display panels larger than 8-inches, which is why most touchscreen frames are 8-inches or smaller. They’re prone to be damaged by small knocks & falls, and the extra cost of the panel often needs to be recuperated from other areas of the frame’s feature set, build quality, or real-world performance.

The alternative to touchscreens is handheld remote controls. These are typically the better option when they’re well-made. It’s worth noting that the range of the remote should be more than 5-meters and it needs to be tactile and responsive.

Pix-Star’s frames have a fantastic remote that lets you adjust slideshows without having to exit them. Alternatively, you can remotely control any connected Pix-Star frames via the web dashboard from anywhere in the world – and all you need is Wi-Fi and a connected, online Pix-Star frame!

Time needed: 5 minutes.

Learning how to remotely control a digital photo frame can work wonders for your home & family – especially if you have elderly users that want to get more involved. Remote control functionality is a feature that’s usually only found among a handful of the best digital photo frames like the Pix-Star. In this guide, we’ll be looking specifically at the Pix-Star digital photo frame and how to remote control it. We cover the 6 important steps that you need to know to get started the right way. Let’s dive in!

  1. Make sure your frame is online & registered

The first step in learning how to remotely control a digital photo frame is to get your frame online & registered. With Pix-Star’s digital photo frame, this is done when first setting up the frame. An online frame simply refers to one that’s connected to Wi-Fi and registered on the web interface.

To register your new Pix-Star digital photo frame, head over to pix-star.com and click on “Register a New Frame” at the top of the window. Here you need your frame’s serial number. Find it in your frame’s “About” section by accessing the frame’s “Settings” page from its home screen. Simply type the serial number into the box and click on “Check Availability”.

It should only take a couple of seconds to check that your digital photo frame hasn’t been previously registered. Once it’s been marked as available, simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete your Pix-Star frames registration process.

Another important point worth noting when connecting to Wi-Fi is that digital photo frames can’t connect to Wi-Fi networks that require web authentication. This is common with Wi-Fi networks at hotels & coffee shops, though some routers may require web authentication (not very common).

  2. Log in to your web dashboard

Once you’ve registered your Pix-Star digital photo frame and got it online, it’s time to log in to your web dashboard. This dashboard is where you can remotely control a digital photo frame, link & sync web albums, and manage the cloud storage for all of your connected Pix-Star frames. Make sure you have the log-in information from step 1 handy as you’ll need them in a moment.

Head over to pix-star.com and click on “Login” at the top of the window. Here you’ll be asked to input your unique “@mypixstar.com” email handle. You should have received this information when you purchased the frame (via email). Input the email username & password then click on “Login”. This is also where you’ll log in to your multi-frame control account if you’ve purchased several frames and want to control all of them at the same time.

You will be sent directly into your frame’s web dashboard. Take a couple of minutes to get familiar with all the features & functions offered in the interface. This is where you can link web albums, manage cloud storage for your connected frames, and remotely control any of your digital photo frames.

  3. Click on “My Frame Configuration”

Near the bottom end of the left-hand panel, find the “My Frame Configuration” option and click on it. Before you click on this option, you may want to adjust your profile settings, change your access password, or add any other frames to your user account. If you’re ready to get straight into remotely controlling your Pix-Star frame, click on “My Frame Configuration” and move on to step 4.

If you get a message at the top of the display that your frame is offline, make sure it’s connected to Wi-Fi. If you’re still having trouble getting it to show as online, simply restart the frame by turning it off, unplugging it, and waiting a moment. Plug the frame into the power outlet and start it up again. This should fix any issues with your Pix-Star digital photo frame not appearing online.

When you get redirected to the “My Frame Configuration” page, you will see the four categories: display settings, an email reception, slide show configuration, and system. Each of these categories lets you adjust a different area of your frame’s settings. While you don’t have 100% control over every setting your frame has to offer, you can adjust all of the important settings remotely.

  4. Adjust display settings

Here you can adjust the digital photo frame’s motion-sensor auto-on/off time limit, auto-power on/off schedule, auto-restart, and date/time settings. They only take a couple of moments to reflect on the frame. They’re great for elderly users as these settings can often be rather confusing as the results aren’t seen immediately.

  5. Manage slideshow settings & preferences

Here you can adjust the slideshow settings that apply to current slideshows (and slideshows in general). The time per slide refers to the transition speed between photos being played in the slideshows. Playing mode lets you adjust the frequency at which photos are played (newest photos only & repeat new photos more often).

Sorting mode lets you adjust the play order of photos. You can choose between randomized play order, newest first, or oldest photos first. This setting will take effect on the current slideshow, but will also affect any subsequent slideshows.

Collage mode lets you create unique photo collages. You can adjust the number of photos to be included in the collage, and even set photos to intelligently fit the screen. This is great for photos that don’t match the 4:3 aspect ratio of Pix-Star’s digital photo frames.

Video mode lets you decide whether videos are to be included in slideshows. You can also adjust whether or not they should play their original sound or play muted. If you want to view videos, but not in slideshows, you can view them directly (individually) from the frame’s media gallery.

  6. Change system & email reception settings

Here you can set whether photos received to the frame’s email address are automatically saved to the frame’s internal storage. This is a fantastic setting for families that want to control who can send photos to which digital photo frames.

It’s a great way to offer an extra layer of protection if there will be kids viewing the slideshows. You can also manage notifications for incoming photos – which is important if you set the frame to request manual acceptance for new photos & videos.

System settings let you view the current firmware version, change the interface language, and even adjust the display’s brightness. Colors settings like hue, temperature, and saturation can be adjusted too – but this needs to be done directly on the frame.

Time needed: 5 minutes.

Here we’re going to learn how to set up a digital photo frame in under 5 minutes. You’ll learn the most important steps in getting your Pix-Star frame ready to go. We’ll even show you how to send your first pictures and start your first slideshow. Let’s get started!

  1. Connect to Wi-Fi

Pix-Star digital frame connect to Wi-Fi
This is arguably the most important step in how to set up a digital photo frame. Pix-Star’s digital photo frame features extensive Wi-Fi connectivity and functionality. Many features and functions rely directly on Wi-Fi, which is why we need to get it ready as soon as possible.

Power your Pix-Star digital photo frame on and give it a short while to ready up. If this is the first time you’re starting the frame up, the setup wizard will guide you through the whole setup process. For connecting to Wi-Fi, make sure you choose a network that you have full access and control over. Since digital photo frames don’t have inbuilt internet browsers, you can’t connect to Wi-Fi networks that require web authentication (coffee shop Wi-Fi for example).

If you’ve already used the frame before, or simply need to switch to a new Wi-Fi network, go to “Settings” from the frame’s home screen. Scroll down to “Wi-Fi” in the left-side panel and press “OK”. Select your Wi-Fi from the list of available connections and press “OK”. Input the password for the network and click “Join”.

Give the frame a moment to connect and show as online. You should see a Wi-Fi symbol in the top left corner of the screen with the signal strength. Also, make sure that the globe icon is blue as it means the frame is online and ready to use.

  2. Register on the web interface

    Pix-Star Register a New Frame
Once you’ve connected to Wi-Fi, the next step in learning how to set up a digital photo frame is to get registered. Head over to pix-star.com and make sure your frame is online and powered on. Click on “Register a new frame” at the top of the window – this will require you to input your Pix-Star frame’s serial number. This number can be found in the “About” section of the frame’s “Settings” page. Input the number and follow the remaining on-screen instructions.

Once you’ve registered your frame, note the frame’s email address and assigned password while registering as you’ll need it when logging into your dashboard. Click on “Login” at the top of the page and input your frame’s details. This takes you to your frame’s dashboard where you can control cloud storage, import photos, and remotely control any connected Pix-Star digital photo frame.

Now that your frame is registered, you’re ready to import pictures from social media, photo-sharing sites, and cloud storage platforms. You can also import pictures directly from your computer to your frame. This dashboard offers a great way to start slideshows and change settings remotely from anywhere in the world.

  3. Add your frame to the mobile app

Pix-Star Snap mobile app add a new frame
Download the Pix-Star Snap mobile app from either the Play Store or the App Store. This app can be used on phones and tablets and is compatible with both iOS and Android. The Pix-Star Snap mobile app lets you send photos, videos, and audio messages to any connected Pix-Star frame from anywhere in the world.

To add your Pix-Star frame to the mobile app, open the app and click on any of the sending options. Select or capture the photos/videos you want to send to your frame and hit the send icon/red checkmark. This will then take you to the “Pix-Star Frame” screen. Click on “Add a Pix-Star frame” at the bottom of the screen. Input your frame’s unique email address and the nickname you want to assign to it. Press “Add Frame”.

You can add multiple Pix-Star frames to the Pix-Star Snap mobile app. Once a frame has been added, it doesn’t need to be added again. You simply have to select it from the list of connected frames. Note that you can send photos and other media to multiple Pix-Star frames at the same time (up to 250 pictures at once). Now you can start using the Pix-Star Snap mobile app to send photos to connected frames from anywhere in the world!

  4. Fine-tune your frame’s settings

Pix-Star digital frame adjust slideshow settings
On your Pix-Star frame, head over to the “Change Settings” page from the home screen. Here you can make your way through all the frame’s settings to fine-tune them to your liking. You can adjust settings like language, date & time, motion sensor settings, auto-on/off, slideshow settings, photo-mail settings, Wi-Fi, and update the firmware.

“Slideshow” settings are very important to get right before viewing your photos. You can set the frame to ignore small pictures that don’t fill enough of the screen. You can also set your Pix-Star frame to ignore older photos – or to play more recent pictures more frequently.

There are loads of customization settings for slideshows that change the speed, style, and type of transitions. You can also switch between orientations and even choose to include videos in slideshows.

Another way to adjust settings is directly inside a slideshow (without needing to back out to the main menu). Simple press the “Menu” button while viewing a slideshow. This brings up a list of options that include deleting photos and adjusting slideshows settings without leaving the slideshow.

  5. Send pictures & start slideshows

Pix-Star digital frame send pictures by USB/SD card
Now you are ready to start sending pictures and other media to your Pix-Star frame. To send pictures by email, add them as attachments and address the email to your frame’s unique email address. Make sure to add them as attachments and don’t drag and drop them into the “body” section of the email.

Send pictures to your frame using the Pix-Star Snap mobile app. You can send to multiple frames at the same time and can send up to 250 photos in one go. Pix-Star Snap also lets your send video clips and audio messages up to 2-minutes long. Videos can be played muted or with their sound using the Pix-Star frame’s inbuilt speakers.

You can load pictures and videos to your Pix-Star frame by USB/SD card. It’s a great offline method that makes sending pictures without using Wi-Fi quick and easy. It’s great for elderly users and anyone that doesn’t have consistent internet access. Slideshows can be started directly off the USB/SD card without needing to copy the contents across to internal storage first.

Now you’re ready to start a slideshow with your favorite pictures and videos. Here’s a quick guide on how to start a slideshow on a Pix-Star frame no matter where you are. You can do it directly on the frame or remotely through the web interface.

Time needed: 3 minutes.

In this guide, we look at how to remote control a digital photo frame as effortlessly as possible. We’re looking specifically at the Pix-Star digital photo frame – one of the best digital frames for families and elderly users on the market at the moment. With a broad set of features and the ability to easily remotely control any connected Pix-Star frame, you can make sure everyone in the family gets the right pictures at the perfect time! Let’s take a look at the simple steps you need to follow!

  1. Make sure your Pix-Star frame is online

Pix-Star digital photo frame home screen
Connect the power inlet to your Pix-Star frame and turn it on using the remote control or onboard control buttons. Give the frame a moment to power on and load. From the home screen, look at the top-left corner of the display. Next to the Pix-Star logo, you’ll see a Wi-Fi symbol and a globe icon. If there is a line through the Wi-Fi symbol, you aren’t connected to Wi-Fi.

To connect to Wi-Fi, go to the “Settings” page, navigate down to “Wi-Fi” and press “OK”. Choose your Wi-Fi network and press “OK”. Type in the password using the onscreen keyboard and remote control. Click “Join” to connect. Note that you can’t connect to Wi-Fi networks that require web authentication (Wi-Fi networks at coffee shops and some hotels).

Make sure the Wi-Fi symbol shows it’s connected and that the globe icon is blue. This means your Pix-Star frame is online and ready to connect to the web interface and receive photos by email, mobile app, etc.

  2. Log into your Pix-Star frames dashboard

    Pix-Star Web Interface Dashboard
Head over to pix-star.com (on a computer’s internet browser) and click “Login” in the top-right corner of the screen. Input your login information (all you need is your Pix-Star frame’s email address and the password). Click “Login” when you’re ready. This will log you in to your user account.

Now you can log in to your Pix-Star frame’s dashboard. If you’ve registered your Pix-Star frame before, you just need to click on your frame at the top of the screen. This takes you straight to the dashboard where you can control your frame.

If this is the first time using the frame, click on “Register a New Frame” at the top of the window. Follow the on-screen instructions to register your new frame. Note that the serial number for your frame can be found in the “About” tab of the “Settings” page on your Pix-Star frame. Input the number next to the “Serial Number” into the field in the web browser and click “Check availability”. Follow the instructions from then on to register your frame. Once you’re done, click on the frame’s name to enter the dashboard.

The dashboard is where you can remotely control any connected Pix-Star frame, import photos from social media and photo-sharing sites, manage cloud storage, and more. Now let’s take a look at how to change your Pix-Star frame’s settings remotely through the web interface.

  3. Configure your Pix-Star frame remotely

    Pix-Star Remote Control Dashboard
Once you’re in your Pix-Star frame’s dashboard, navigate to and click on “My Frame Configuration” in the left-side panel. This takes you to the page where you can change your frame’s settings remotely. You can change “Display settings”, “Slide Show Configuration”, “Email Reception”, and “System” settings. These settings give you almost the same level of control as you would have if you were using the frame in person.

“Display settings” is where you can change settings related to the motion sensor, auto-on/off, and energy-saving modes. “Slide Show Configuration” is where you change settings for the style, speed, play order & frequency, and whether to include videos in slideshows. “Email Reception” settings let you adjust what happens to incoming pictures sent by email. You can also adjust the notification sound and whether new pictures are automatically saved (and where).

Finally, “System” settings let you change the language, view the firmware version & memory usage, and adjust the frame’s screen brightness. Once you’ve adjusted and fine-tuned your frame’s settings and slideshow preferences, you’re ready to start a slideshow.

  4. Start slideshows from anywhere in the world

    Pix-Star Switch Slide Show Interface
From your Pix-Star frame’s dashboard, click on “Switch Slide Show”. Here you can remotely change the slideshow that’s currently playing on your Pix-Star frame. All you need is an online frame and access to the web interface. There are four different slideshows to choose from.

“Play all the frame’s pictures” will start a slideshow that contains any picture saved to the frame’s internal storage. This will also include pictures saved on a connected USB/SD card, web albums, and photo-mail. These slideshows will still follow the slideshow settings and are subject to play order, frequency, and ‘ignore’ settings.

“Play all web albums” will start a slideshow containing only the pictures saved to the frame from imported web albums. These include photos synced from Facebook, Instagram, Google Photos, etc., and photos imported as web albums directly from your computer. These are the pictures found under the “Web Albums” tab of your Pix-Star frame’s “My Media Library”. All other pictures will be ignored.

“Play inbox photos” start a slideshow containing only the photos received by photo mail. This includes photos that were received from the mobile app and direct by email. It will also include photos that have been copied to this section into a created folder. This would be the case if you manually copied photos from a USB/SD card into a created folder in the photo-mail section.

Finally, “Play a slide show of a specific web album” lets you pick a web album from a list of all the synced web albums. These web album names depend on what you called them (or what they were labeled as when the linking/importing process what done. Only photos in the selected web album will be included in the slideshow.

Time needed: 3 minutes.

Here we’re going to learn the simple steps on how to start a slideshow on a digital photo frame. We’re to focus on the Pix-Star digital photo frame for this guide as it’s one of the most versatile and capable frames on the market. The methods used here can be used to some other top digital photo frames, with some being specific to the Pix-Star frame. Let’s get started!

  1. Start a Slideshow with All the Frame’s Pictures

Pix-Star digital photo frame home screen
Pix-Star’s digital photo frames have a super-handy feature that lets you start a slideshow containing all the photos on the frame’s internal storage right from the home screen. Note that these slideshows are still controlled by the slideshow settings (which let you control the play order and frequency). You can choose to play recent photos more frequently or even to exclude older photos completely.

To start a slideshow with all the frame’s pictures, click on the “Play all the frame’s pictures” panel from the main menu. This can be done in just two button clicks and immediately starts a slideshow. You can adjust the slideshow settings by pressing the “Menu” button while viewing the photos.

Scroll down to “Slideshow options” and start adjusting settings to your preference. This is a great way to change slideshow settings without needing to leave the slideshow. It’s super user-friendly and great for elderly users as the menus are easy to follow and shallow.

  2. Include Videos in Slideshows

    Pix-Star include videos into slideshows
You can include videos in slideshows on the Pix-Star digital picture frame. The videos need to be saved to the frame’s internal storage and need to meet the frame’s length and format requirements. To include videos in slideshows, press the “Menu” button while inside the slideshow. Scroll down to “Slideshow options” and press okay.

In the newly opened branch, scroll down to “Video-mail options”. Here you can choose between 3 options that let you include videos along with their sound, play the videos muted, or do not include videos at all. Note that the whole video will be played (up to a maximum of 2-minutes). The sound is played through the frame’s inbuilt speakers and can be set to a lower volume.

You can create a new folder in any of the directories in the “photo-mail” tab of the “My Media Library” and keep all your videos inside here. This lets you select the whole folder and start a slideshow with just the videos contained in the folder.

  3. Start a Slideshow from Specific Folders/Files

Go to “My Media Library” from the Pix-Star frame’s home screen. Here you can browse through all the sources that your frame has received photos from. Alternatively, you can browse through all the files and folders that have been created. You can manually create new folders and fill them with files (photos, videos, and audio files) to create customized and personalized slideshows. This can be done through either the web interface when importing web albums, or directly through the frame’s interface.

To start selecting, click on “Select folders/files” in the left-hand panel. You can then start selecting individual files or entire folders to play a slideshow from. Alternatively, you can go into a folder and manually select the files you want to include in the slideshow. Once you’ve made your selection, click on “Play slideshow from selection” in the left-side panel. This will start a slideshow that can be managed and controlled like a normal slideshow – just with a different source (as opposed to a slideshow with all the photos on the frame).

  4. Start a Slideshow Remotely Via the Web Interface

    Pix-Star dashboard view photo-mail-min
This is one of the Pix-Star frame’s most unique features that lets you remotely start a slideshow from anywhere in the world. All you need is access to a web browser (to access your frame’s dashboard) and an online Pix-Star frame.

Once you’ve logged into your Pix-Star frame’s dashboard or multi-frame control account, click on “Switch Slide Show” in the left-side panel. You might need to scroll down to the bottom of the panel to find it. Your Pix-Star frame needs to be online for this remote slideshow function to work.

Here you can start a slideshow with all the frame’s pictures by clicking on “Play all the frame’s pictures”. Alternatively, you can start a slideshow containing just the photos synced as web albums. To do this, click on “Play all web albums”. You can also start a slideshow from a specific web album, which is selected under the “Play a slide show of a specific web album”.

Finally, you can play all the photos from your Pix-Star frame’s photo-mail inbox. This includes all the photos sent to your frame from the mobile app and via email. It also includes any photos that have been copied into this category from a connected USB/SD card.

Note that all remotely started slideshows will still follow the slideshow rules set under the “Slideshow options” menu. This includes the play order, frequency, style, and speed controls.

Time needed: 4 minutes.

This step-by-step guide teaches you how to send photos to a digital frame from iPhone. We’re going to focus on the Pix-Star digital picture frame, but this general process can be used across most digital photo frames that have an iOS compatible mobile app and Wi-Fi capabilities. In Pix-Star’s case, the iPhone sends the pictures to the frame’s unique email address, which in turn is saved to the Pix-Star frame’s internal storage. Let’s get into the steps below!

  1. Download the Pix-Star Snap Mobile App

Pix-Star Snap mobile app iOS interface
The Pix-Star Snap mobile app is Pix-Star’s dedicated app that’s used to send pictures, videos, and audio messages directly to your frame. It’s unique in the sense that you can send up to 250 images to multiple frames at the same time. You can also send videos and audio notes without needing to pay for any recurring subscription fees (as with Nixplay and Skylight).

The Pix-Star Snap mobile app is compatible with both iOS and Android. You can use it on phones and tablets without issue. Search for “Pix-Star Snap” in either the Play Store or the App Store and download & install it. When you first open the app and try to use any of the functions, you may be prompted to grant permission that lets the app access the gallery, camera, etc.

Note that the iOS version of the Pix-Star Snap mobile app has a slightly different layout to the Android version. You’ll need to add your Pix-Star to the first screen (the app’s home screen). The Android version only requires you to add the receiving frames after selecting the media you want to send.

Pix-Star’s app will remember all added frames and they simply need to be selected from the list of added frames. You don’t need to re-add the frame every time you send pictures.

To add your Pix-Star frame to the iOS app, click on the “+” symbol at the top right of the app’s opening screen. Put in your frame’s unique email address and nickname then click “Add”. Click on the frame’s name from the list and move onto the next step.

  2. Capture New Pictures Directly Inside the App

Pix-Star Snap iOS capture photos inside app
After adding your frame to the app and selecting it from the list, select the “Take a picture and send it” option. This opens your phone’s camera inside the app. You may need to grant the app permission to access your camera. It’s necessary if you want to capture new photos directly inside the app.

Simply capture the photos and hit “send”. The photo will shortly appear on your frame. You can even set new photos to show up as they are received. These received pictures are saved to the frame’s internal storage which is accessed through the “My Media Library” tab from the home screen on the frame.

  3. Select Pictures from Your iPhone’s Gallery

Pix-Star Snap mobile app select photos from gallery iOS
This method lets you select all the pictures you want to send directly from your phone’s gallery. It’s a great option for sending the photos you took on your latest trip when you get back home. You can send up to 250 photos at once.

Select the receiving frame from the list of added Pix-Star frames. Click on the “Select and send pictures” option from the list. Here you can browse through all of your iPhone’s photos and folders. Press and hold on to an image to activate the multi-select function. Now you can choose all the photos you want to send to the receiving frame.

If you only want to send one photo, simply click on it (without the press & hold). Photos with a checkmark on their thumbnail have previously been sent to the selected frame and don’t need to be re-sent. Once you’ve chosen all the photos you want to send, hit the “Send” icon. You can review all the photos you want to send before the final sending.

Note that it can take a few minutes for the photos to fully send, receive, and save on your Pix-Star depending on the size and number of photos. All received photos are saved to the Pix-Star frame’s internal storage and can be accessed while offline. New photos can also be set to automatically display on the frame’s screen as they are received, making sure you never miss an important photo or moment.

  4. View the Pictures in a Slideshow on Your Pix-Star Frame

To view slideshows of all of your recently received photos from the Pix-Star Snap mobile app, click on the “My Media Library – Browse all Pictures and Sources” option from the frame’s main menu. This takes to the file explorer/media gallery containing all photos and other media on your Pix-Star frame.

Select the “Photo-Mails” tab from the horizontal panel and click “ok”. This will show you all the folders that contain photos received via the frame’s dedicated email address. This includes photos send as attachments in emails and media sent to the frame via the mobile app.

You can browse through entire folders and files and manually select the photos you want to include in a slideshow. It’s a great way to customize which folders and photos are included in a slideshow. If you want to start a slideshow from a specific folder only, click on the “Select files/folders” option from the left-side panel. Now you can choose the folder(s) you want to play a slideshow from. Click on “Play slideshow of the selection” to start the slideshow containing only the chosen files/folders.

You can select multiple folders to play customized slideshows from. Inside each folder, you can also select multiple files to play a slideshow, while ignoring unselected files in the same folder. Note that this can also be done remotely through the web interface dashboard.

Temps nécessaire : 3 minutes.

We’re taking a deeper look at how to play videos on the Pix-Star digital picture frame. You’ll be guided through the different methods and all the steps involved. Pix-Star’s frames are incredibly versatile and some of the most capable digital frames on the market. They’re great for video playback and there are no recurring or additional fees to unlock sending and playing videos. Let’s get started!

  1. Pix-Star’s Video Playback Requirements

    Pix-Star video support restrictions
Learning about the limitations is the first and most important step in learning how to play videos on the Pix-Star digital picture frame. Almost every digital photo frame has limitations on video playback length and format. Pix-Star is one of the more versatile options and supports video clips of up to 2-minutes long and a wide variety of formats are allowed.

The only way to send videos to your Pix-Star digital picture frame is by either the mobile app or the USB/SD card. Unlike many other premium frames, Pix-Star doesn’t charge a recurring subscription fee or any additional fees to unlock video playback and use of the mobile app. Videos are saved to your Pix-Star frame’s internal storage and automatically backed up to your free-forever cloud storage.

Now, let’s take a look at each of the methods for sending videos to your Pix-Star digital picture frame.

  2. Send Videos with the Pix-Star Snap Mobile App

The Pix-Star Snap mobile app is one of the most intuitive and capable mobile apps for digital frames on the market. You can send up to 250 photos to multiple frames at the same time. It’s unique as you can send video clips to multiple frames at the same time – without any additional subscription fees or hidden costs. An intuitive interface and easy-to-use functions make this app a great choice for families and even for elderly users.

Video clips can be sent through the Pix-Star Snap mobile app. They’re sent directly to your Pix-Star frame through its dedicated email address. To send videos, open the Pix-Star Snap mobile app. Select the “Video” tile to go to the image/video browser. Here you need to select the video to send to your Pix-Star frame. If the video file is too long or too big, you won’t be able to send it to your frame (a 2-minute length limit).

Once you’ve clicked the video you want to send to your frame, select all the frames to send it to. You can add new receiving frames by pressing the “Add a Pix-Star Frame” option at the bottom of the interface. Select all the frames you want to send the videos to and click the send icon at the bottom right of the screen.

It might take a couple of minutes to send and load the videos to all receiving frames depending on the sizes and lengths of each video. Make sure all the receiving frames are online to ensure they receive the sent videos.

  3. Copy Videos from a USB/SD Card

This is the only offline method for sending videos to your Pix-Star frame. It doesn’t require an active Wi-Fi connection and is great for users that don’t connect their frame to the internet very often – or live in areas with poor internet connections.

Load the videos you want to view on the frame to a support USB/SD card. There are no storage size issues and Pix-Star supports a wide range of SD cards and USB types. Make sure the videos meet the 2-minute length requirement and are in a supported format.

Insert the USB/SD card with the videos into the USB/SD card port on your Pix-Star frame. You’ll get a popup on your frame as seen in the image above. Selecting the “Open the USB & browse files inside” lets you access all the photos and videos on the connected USB/SD card. Here you can manually select and copy all the video files from the USB/SD card directly to your frame’s internal storage.

Selecting the “Copy the whole USB Device to Internal Memory” option automatically copies all of the photos, videos, and audio messages to the frame’s internal storage. You can select which files are copied. Note that the size of the collection to be copied needs to be smaller than the available space on your Pix-Star’s internal storage drive to avoid any errors and issues.

All copied videos and photos are available in the “My Media Library” which is found on the home page on your Pix-Star frame.

  4. Include Video Clips in Slideshows

    Pix-Star Slideshow Settings
From the Pix-Star frame’s home screen, select “Play all the frame’s picture” and press “ok”. This starts with a slideshow containing all the photos on the frame. Inside the slideshow, press “Menu” on your remote control. This brings up a menu on the left side of the display. Use the remote control to scroll down to the “Slideshow options” at the bottom of the menu and press “ok”.

In the next menu, scroll down to the “Video-mail options”. This is where you can choose to include videos into slideshows with or without their sound. If you choose to include videos in slideshows, the whole video will be played. Play order and frequency are controlled by the same slideshow settings that pictures and audio messages are controlled by.

If you choose to play videos without their sound, they’ll still play at full length. The only difference is that they will be completely muted. Alternatively, you can simply adjust the frame’s volume to reduce how loud the videos’ audio plays.

  5. View Individual Video Clips

To view a specific video clip outside of slideshows, select “My media library” from the home screen and press “ok”. In the file explorer, all the photos and videos copied from a USB/SD card or sent through the Pix-Star Snap mobile app will be saved under the “Photo-mails” tab.

Here you can browse through all the folders and files you’ve previously copied or sent to your frame. Find the video file you want to play, select it, and click on the “Play slideshow of the Selection” to view the video file/files.
